Meet Colter Metcalf
Colter Metcalf is a fourth generation Gallatin County resident who has dedicated his career to serving and protecting the community he calls home. As a longtime law enforcement officer, he has seen firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing Gallatin County, especially as rapid growth continues to reshape the valley.
A graduate of Bozeman Senior High School, Colter attended Montana State University and went on to build a career in public safety. He has served with the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office since 2013 and previously worked with the Three Forks Police Department and other Montana agencies. His years in law enforcement have reinforced his belief that strong communities depend on public safety, accountable government, and leaders who understand local values.
Colter is running for Gallatin County Commissioner to bring common sense leadership to county government, improve transparency, support public safety, and help manage growth in a way that protects the character of Gallatin County for future generations.
He and his wife, Lindsay, have been married since 2013. Colter is proud of his Montana roots and grateful for the chance to serve the place that shaped him.
